Hi! My name is Sorina Hagianu, welcome to my Owl Natural Soaps store.
I had been a self taught cake decorator and artist for several years before trying my hand at making soap. As it turned out it became a passion that I am planning to stick with for a long time. My cake decorating and art background have proved very useful in my new endeavor and are helping me design unique and creative soaps for you to enjoy.
Hand made soap is wonderful for your skin because it is free of harsh detergents, preservatives and alcohol. An added benefit of handmade soap is that it contains a high amount of glycerin which is a natural by-product of the soapmaking process. Glycerin is a great humectant that along with the oils, butters and other ingredients in the recipe will leave your skin moisturized and silky soft. I spend a lot of time researching the best ingredients for my soaps so they have wonderful moisturizing, nourishing and healing skin benefits. Almost all of my soaps are made with different recipes and/or additives, so you’re sure to find one - or more - favorite. I use lots of different oils and butters in my recipes - like olive, apricot, avocado, sesame, sweet almond, flax, hemp, neem, safflower, oils, cocoa and shea butters to name a few - as well as natural clays, milks, oatmeal, honey essential oils and dried herbs to bring the most luxurious qualities to each bar. Most of the herbs I mix in soap or use for oil infusions grow in my own garden.
I try to make my own molds whenever possible. All my shell molds were made with shells we collected from St. Simons and Tybee Islands, while for the Fall soap molds I used acorns and nuts my children found in our back yard. I also like to pipe roses and other flowers to decorate my soaps; it reminds me of my cake decorating days :).
I hope you’ll enjoy my Owl Natural Soaps as much as I enjoy making them!
